On Wednesday the Echelon Partners team will kick off their Deals & Deal Makers Summit. The two-day event is being held at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach, California. Also on Wednesday, the Independent Directors Council (IDC) team will kick off their Foundations for Fund Directors orientation program for board members. The two-day event will be held at KPMG's offices in New York City.

Also on Wednesday in New York City, the Opal Group team will host their Impact Investing Forum North 2018, this time at the New York Hilton Midtown. That same day, in the same hotel, the Opal team will kick off their 2018 Emerging Managers Summit, a two-day event.

On Thursday, also in New York City, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (Finra) team will host their 2018 Fixed Income Conference at the InterContinental New York Times Square. Former Vanguard CEO Jack Brennan will be the keynote speaker.

Also on Thursday in New York City, the Money Management Institute (MMI) team will host their 2018 Leadership Pathway Seminar. The event, held at OppenheimerFunds headquarters, is co-chaired by Sheila Stoler, SVP of product management at Brinker Capital, and Adam Tabor, VP of client insights and analytics at OpFunds. Also on Thursday, the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC's) Investor Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting in the multipurpose room at SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C. The morning session will dig into U.S. proxy voting infrastructure, while the afternoon session will address "the implications of passive investing." Speakers will include: Rodney Comegys, principal and head of Vanguard's risk management group; Jeb Doggett, managing director of Deloitte's Casey Quirk; Marcel Kahan, a professor at NYU Law; Bob Pozen, former chairman of MFS; and Robert Sharps, group CIo at T. Also on Thursday, the MMI team will kick off their September 2018 MMI Distribution Leadership Forum.
