Ex-SEC Honcho Rominger Jumps Back in the Game

Former SEC Investment Management Division Director Eileen Rominger is back in the game.

Rominger, who also was former global chief investment officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), has joined the consulting firm CamberView Partners as a senior advisor.

"Eileen's track record of leadership in the investor community and deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape will further advance CamberView's position as the leading independent advisory firm in the areas of contested situations and difficult shareholder votes," stated Abe Friedman, managing partner of CamberView Partners. "We look forward to her contributions to the firm and our clients."

In addition to her tour at GSAM, Rominger worked for 18 years as an equity portfolio manager at Oppenheimer Capital, where she was a managing director and a member of the Executive Committee.

She was replaced at the SEC in July 2012 by Norm Champ.

CamberView consults corporations and institutional investors on issues such as corporate governance and shareholder relations.

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 13, 2013 -- CamberView Partners, LLC announced today thatEileen Rominger, former Director of the Division of Investment Management at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and former Global Chief Investment Officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor.

While at the SEC, Rominger was head of the division that regulates the $14 trillion mutual fund industry as well as federally registered investment advisors. As Global Chief Investment Officer of GSAM, she led equity, fixed income, and hedge fund portfolio management teams responsible for approximately$700 billion of clients' assets. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 1999, Rominger worked for 18 years as an equity portfolio manager at Oppenheimer Capital, where she was a Managing Director and a member of the Executive Committee.

Ms. Rominger joins CamberView's existing Senior Advisors, Richard H. Koppes and Peter C. Clapman. Mr. Koppes is the former Deputy Executive Officer and General Counsel for the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS), the largest public pension fund in the United States, with more than $230 billion in assets. He led the CalPERS corporate governance program after building it from the ground up, and he has spent the past 15 years advising boards on how to navigate the institutional investor community. Mr. Clapman was previously Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Counsel for TIAA-CREF, which had an investment portfolio that exceeded $400 billion, for 32 years until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Clapman built TIAA-CREF's heralded corporate governance program and led it for more than 25 years. He is currently a board member and chairs the governance committee for iPass. Mr. Koppes and Mr. Clapman are both currently board members of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).
