Fido is Moving Jobs to the Lone Star State

News summary by MFWire's editors

The Boston Behemoth loves Texas.

Fidelity Investments [profile] has gone big with the Lone Star State, employing more than 4,500 people in the town of Westlake and moving even more jobs at a brisk pace, according to the Star Telegram.

Fido's 337-acre regional campus in Westlake first opened in 2001, according to the newspaper. The fund giant has since consolidated facilities from Las Colinas and elsewhere in North Texas.

The behemoth has also added jobs to the campus "through a mix of internal expansion and relocations from its Boston headquarters and other sites."

The Star Telegram notes that the influx started in 2010, when a second building was opened in Westlake. According to the paper, construction on that second building began in 2008 but then was mothballed for 18 months during the financial crisis.

Since that building's completion, about 100 works a month have been brought to the campus, according to the Star Telegram
