Federated Investors CEO
Chris Donahue is the
third biggest wealth creator, according to the
2010 Chief Executive - Applied Finance Group S&P 500 CEO Wealth Creation
Rankings.
This is the third annual rankings published by Chief Executive
magazine. Last year, Donahue was ranked No. 2 on the list.
The list provided a ranking of 338 CEOs.
T. Rowe Price's
James Kennedy is No. 12,
Greg Johnson of
Franklin Resources
is No. 44 and
Marty Flanagan of
Invesco is No. 271.
The ranking is based on the performance of companies and CEOs
in the S&P 500 index for the three years through June 30, 2010.
"Creating value is, after all, why CEOs do what they do," write
Drew Morris and Michael Burdi. The wealth creation index "leans heavily on the concept of
economic margin (EM)... While there is no single metric that is perfect, EM
comes close, in that it isn't dependent on share price in assessing
management's impact on value creation."
