Don't think that your typical shy reporter doesn't have a dream of making it on Broadway. On Friday reporters from the New York Financial Writers Association took to the stage at the Marriott Marquis to mock Wall Street's latest shennanigans (in song, of course).
The show,
which the Wall Street Journal covered, was put together by a "book and lyrics" committee that includes some familiar names whose bylines -- Josh Friedlander, Imogen Rose-Smith and Peter Coy -- those in asset management may have already seen. Friedlander is online editor of AR: Absolute Return + Alpha while Coy is BusinessWeek's economics editor and Imogen Rose-Smith is a reporter for Institutional Investor.
Songs at this year's show included: "Deck the halls with boughs of folly" and "It's Raining Yen" along with a Journey-inspired "Don't Stop Deceiving."
Last Friday's show was the 68th for the NYFWA. The event started in 1938 and took a break for World War II.
