The sale process for
Lehman Brothers' investment management unit, home of
Neuberger Berman, is still chugging along.
The Wall Street Journal reports that joint bidders
Bain Capital and
Hellman & Friedman were pushing to finalize the deal on Sunday night. Still holding up the transaction are the negotiations with Neuberger 's portfolio managers which a source described to the Journal as like "herding cats." The pub added that the situation is still fragile and could fall apart.
Retuers also gave an update on the deal and said that a deal could come as early as Monday.
